NAMIBIA – CrossFit Swakopmund & CrossFit Skeleton Coast, in conjunction with Connect People to People, are hosting the second annual “Fittest in the Namib” competition in Swakopmund on the 18th and 19th of December 2020.
The countdown to the event has commenced and CrossFit boxes from all over the country are training intensively for the two-day event starting on Friday 18 December 2020 at The Mole beach in Swakopmund. The prime beach location of the picturesque coastal town has been secured for this event for the next five years. The second day of the competition will see the event move to the Vineta Stadium where the final clash for the title as Fittest in the Namib will be battled out. Spanning two days, participants teaming up in same-gender teams of two will go head-to-head in six different CrossFit workouts known as WODs. A whopping 80 teams are competing in this year’s event maxing out the signups for 2020 at 160 participants.
The winning team will walk away with the prestigious title of Fittest in the Namib for 2020 with many prizes up for grabs as well as cash giveaways to the value of NAD 20 000. The event will cater for the entire family with delicious food stalls, a cash bar to stay refreshed under the Namibian summer sun and many fun filled activities for the kids, such as bubble soccer.
Through continued support to the CrossFit community, Mannie’s Bike Mecca once again came onboard as the title sponsor as well as a Silver sponsor for this year’s Fittest in the Namib. Silver and Gold sponsors who signed up toward the WOD’s include Dynamic Marine Survey & Solutions and D&M Rail with all cash prizes sponsored by FNB Namibia.
