The Savanna Origin of Trails Training Run #1 is set to take Blaauwklippen Wine Estate by storm this coming Saturday (22 May 2021)!
“To help trail runners prepare for the 3rd annual Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run Experience that will take place at the picturesque Blaauwklippen Wine Estate on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June 2021, we are excited to host two training runs in the build up to the event,” confirms Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “The first training run will take place this coming Saturday (22 May 2021) at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate. The run will consist of a 12 – 15km route and runners can choose to join one of three groups depending on the pace they would like to run. Everybody will start together.”
“Runners can expect a good mixture of single track, jeep tracks, technical trails, climbs and descents,” continues Meyer. “Look forward to meeting fellow Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run entrants while getting a taste of what to expect on event day. Complimentary coffee, THIRSTI Water and a refreshing Savanna Non-Alcoholic Lemon Cider will be available to all runners at the training run and they will also receive a FREE Beet It Sport branded headscarf on arrival. The Blaauwklippen market will be in full swing for runners to enjoy afterwards. We are excited to treat Savanna Origin of Trails entrants to two fun filled training runs in the build up to the 2021 Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run Experience.”

Distance: 12 – 15km
Entry limit: 100 runners
What to bring with to the run: Enough food and water for the run, mask/head
scarf, something warm for afterwards.

Launched in 2018, the Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run Experience will treat runners to the best trails on offer in Stellenbosch. Entrants can look forward to challenging, yet fun and rewarding routes with spectacular views.

Format: Two-Day Stage Race for individual entrants

Day 1: between 22 – 25km
Day 2: between 15 – 17 km

All trail runners will receive an official event technical t-shirt as well as a finisher’s t-shirt.
