Northwest Province –The Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run returns to the picturesque ATKV Buffelspoort on Saturday 04 June and Sunday 05 June respectively and will boast a combined prize purse of R52 000.
“’We’re excited to offer a combined prize purse of R52 000 for the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic Marathon (+-65km) and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run Long Route (+-R24km) in 2022,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “A total of R30 000 is up for grabs at the Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic Marathon. The Overall Men’s and Women’s winners will each take home R5000, with R3000 going to second place and R2000 to third place. The top three finishers in the following categories will also secure a percentage of the prize purse: Senior Men and Women, Sub Vet Men and Women, Vet Men and Women, Master Men and Women and Grandmaster Men and Women.”
“The Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run’s Long Route (+-24km) prize purse will total R22 000,” continues Meyer. “The overall winners in the men’s and women’s race will secure R3000, while second place will receive R2000, and third place will take home R1000. The top three finishers in the following categories will also be rewarded with a percentage of the prize purse: Senior Men and Women, Junior Men and Women, Vet Men and Women, Master Men and Women and Grandmaster Men and Women.”
In closing Meyer adds: “We will also be rewarding the winners with beautiful trophies both in the mountain bike and trail run events. We hope that the prize purse and trophies will encourage some exciting racing. We can’t wait to treat mountain bikers and trail runners to a memorable experience on the trails at the 2022 Fedhealth Magalies Monster MTB Classic and Fedhealth Platinum Trail Run in June.”
