Zimbabwe international and former Kaizer Chiefs striker Mathew Rusike has signed a two-year contract with Portuguese La Liga side CD National.

His agent Micky Paiva confirmed the deal on Tuesday.

“Contrary to earlier reports coming from Portugal, I can confirm that Matthew Rusike has signed with C.D. Nacional Madeira on a 2 year contract,” Paiva told the media.

Rusike’s three-year contract at Chiefs was due to expire on Tuesday and he had already made up his mind to leave the club after championship winning coach Stuart Baxter confirmed his own exit.

Baxter has been replaced as coach by Steve Komphela.
