Durbanites will be treated to a live performance by South African musician and dancer, Moonchild Sanelly at the Totalsports Women’s Race on Friday, 09 August 2019 (National Women’s Day). Known for her signature blue-coloured hair and self-created music genre called “future ghetto funk”, runners can look forward to hearing a combination of kwaito, hip hop and electronic sounds. “My music journey actually started back in Durban in 2006,” confirms Moonchild. “I enjoy the freedom to express myself, while empowering those who don’t believe that their voice matters. I am really excited to perform at the Totalsports Women’s Race, an event that is run by women. It really is an important initiative and having the support of a big brand such as Totalsports is beautiful. Runners and supporters can expect energy, energy, energy. They will probably want to run the 5km and/or 10km again after my performance.” Event Information: 2019 Totalsports Women’s Race An annual Women’s Day celebration, the Totalsports Women’s Race encourages athletes to run united in support of PinkDrive because they are #StrongerTogether.
