Taking place at the Greenpoint Athletics Stadium (Cape Town) on Saturday 23 October 2021, the Twizza Super School Series Regional Qualifier #2 will boast exceptionally strong competition in the Girls Team Category with an impressive list of teams from La Rochelle Girls’ High School (Paarl), Paarl Girls’ High School, Parel Vallei High School (Somerset West), Bellville High School, Huguenot High School (Wellington) and HTS Drostdy (Worcester) eager to stamp their authority on the event.
Launched in 2019, the Twizza Super School Series has very quickly become a highlight on the schools’ athletics calendar and has one clear goal in mind – to crown SA’s best athletics school! There can be only ONE WINNER!
The winning school will take home bragging rights for one year!
“The Twizza Super School Series gives athletes an amazing opportunity to meet other athletes from various schools,” says Milan Horn (17) from La Rochelle Girls’ High School. “I am really looking forward to being able to compete again. Larries is a connected team, and everybody cares about your well-being. This makes our school very special. My goal is to enjoy my events while being the best version of an athlete that I can be.” Horn will be seen in action in the 100m, 100m hurdles and relay.
According to Leah Winter (16) from Paarl Girls’ High School, the Twizza Super School Series is a great opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talent. “It is also a great opportunity for athletes to have fun, while being exposed to strong competition. I am really looking forward to being able to run a race again after such a long period of not competing due to Covid. My goal is to run my personal best time for both the 400m and 100m hurdles. My long-term goal is to achieve my SA colours and represent my country.”
Bellville High School’s Celest Louw (16) believes that the Twizza Super School Series presents athletes with healthy competition. “It’s a competition where athletes learn from one another and grow together,” says Louw. “Athletes get to test their abilities and skills against other athletes from other regions. Having just come out of recovery, I’m looking forward to seeing how I’m going to perform. I’m also looking forward to meeting new athletes, making new friends, settings new goals and learning from others. My goal is to see myself grow in this competition, learn new tricks from other athletes, get new PB’s and just have fun.” Louw focusses on the 100m, 200m and Long Jump.
“The Twizza Super School Series is a great initiative by Twizza to bring the sport of athletics back to life,” says Jo- Éke Haas (16) from HTS Drostdy. “I will take part in the 100m and 200m sprints and my goal is to target my personal best times. Our school focusses on developing its’ learners not only academically, but also through sport. Our goal, as a school and team, is to be crowned the best school in the country.”

Once completed the Regional Qualifier #1 and Regional Qualifier #2 results will be tallied, with the overall Top 40 Boys Teams and Top 40 Girls Teams advancing to the Twizza Super School Series National Final that will take place on Saturday 19 February 2022.
