An impressive contingent of Boys Teams have signed up for the action-packed Twizza Super School Series Regional Qualifier #2 that will take place at the Greenpoint Athletics Stadium (Cape Town) this coming Saturday 23 October 2021.

The list of schools includes, but is not limited to, Bellville High School, Boland Agricultural High School (Paarl), HTS Drostdy (Worcester), Paarl Boys High School and Parel Vallei High School (Somerset West).

Launched in 2019, the Twizza Super School Series has very quickly become a highlight on the schools’ athletics calendar and has one clear goal in mind – to crown SA’s best athletics school!

There can be only ONE WINNER! The winning school will take home bragging rights for one year!

“The Twizza Super School Series is a great event that gives athletes the chance to show off the fruits of their hard work, dedication and determination,” says Nico Geldenhuys (17) from Bellville High School. “We, as athletes, see the event as an opportunity to better ourselves. I want to be the best in shotput, for that to happen I must compete against the best. My school and team are positive, enthusiastic and determined. We don’t give up and we always give our all. I want to become an Olympian and I will strive towards that goal no matter how difficult it gets.”

According to JC Nothnagel (17) from Boland Agricultural High School, he is very excited to take part in the Twizza Super School Series. “The series is an excellent platform for us to showcase our talents,” says Nothnagel. “I am looking forward to competing against the best athletes in Cape Town at the Regional Qualifier #2. My goal is to improve my PB of 66,4m in the javelin throw. My school and team are amazing because we are a band of brothers who bring out the best in each other.”

“The Twizza Super School Series is a great initiative,” says Argano Daniëls (17) from HTS Drostdy. “Our school is focused on the development of its learners not only academically, but also through sports. Integrity, solidarity, loyalty, discipline and respect are values that are very important to us. Our goal will be to target personal best times while being crowned the best school in the country.” Daniëls will be seen in action in the 100m and 200m sprints.

“The Twizza Super School Series gives us the opportunity to compete against schools from all around the country,” says Matthew Levens (17) from Paarl Boys High School. “We don’t get this opportunity a lot, so this gives us the chance to compare ourselves to the best athletes in South Africa. I look forward to seeing top performances on well-known tracks. I would like to do my best and score as many points as possible for my team and ultimately my school. We are a hardworking team with a great team spirit.” Levens is a 100m and 200m athlete.

“I really enjoy taking part in the Twizza Super School Series because it helps me to improve on my athletics,” says Jayden Daniels (17) from Parel Vallei High School. “I am really looking forward to running and seeing my friends again. My goal is to come first while getting PBs in my events. My long-term goal is just to be the best athlete that I can be.” Daniels focusses on the 100m and 200m sprints and 400m hurdles.
