Nigeria: Group Kicks Against Marriage of Four-Year-Old Girl to 54-Year-Old Man in Bayelsa

Nigeria’s Child Rights Act, which Bayelsa State has domesticated, criminalises child marriage.

A Child rights advocacy group in Bayelsa, DO Foundation, on Thursday, kicked against the 26 December traditional marriage between a four-year-old ‘bride’ and a 54-year-old man at Akeddei community in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
