Egypt: Review of Egypt’s Draft Criminal Procedure Code

The following is a non-comprehensive review of the draft new Criminal Procedure Code (CPC). The review is based on a 95-page document published on a number of pro-government websites in August 2024 following the Egyptian government’s proposal to draft a new CPC. The draft features the name and logo of the Egyptian Parliament’s Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee.
