This unaccompanied minors service started in November this year.

“We’ve been enjoying hosting these young travellers,” says Kirby Gordon, CMO at FlySafair. “Our staff have been trained in providing the utmost care for our youngest passengers who are travelling alone, and the facility is proving to be quite popular”

The service is available to passengers as young as five and as old as 11 for an additional fee of R750 per child. Upon check-in, parent and child will be met by a specialist member of the FlySafair team who will accompany them through the airport and stay with them until boarding. The cabin crew will then take over child-minding duties for the duration of the flight and handover to another specialist team member at the arrival airport. Children will then be escorted through baggage collection and to meet their nominated parent or guardian.

To book the unaccompanied minors service, customers are required to fill in the request form on the FlySafair website.
