Johannesburg, 22 January 2019 – Nomad Africa, one of Africa’s leading travel and tourism media firms, announced plans to bring a new, annual tech event to the southern African region.

2414 Publishing, one of Africa’s leading travel and tourism media firms and publishers of Nomad Africa magazine has announced plans to bring a new, annual tech event to the Southern African region.

Curated to explore the impact of technology on Africa’s travel industry, the event will be hosted in Johannesburg, over one single for an exclusive audience of 100 decision makers and business leaders in travel, hospitality, transport, technology and fintech.

“We are pleased to be hosting a milestone event in Johannesburg. The collective African economy is constantly evolving and changing, so it is crucial that we discuss the tech innovations and disruptions impacting the travel and tourism industry. I am confident that this event program will support the continuous progression of travel and tourism by exposing the tourism decision makers to leading industry experts.” said Miriro Matema, Managing Editor of Nomad Africa

South Africa is a hotbed of tech activity and is rapidly growing to rival the best tech cities as an innovation powerhouse. This new event will not only showcase the innovative technology being created to boost tourism in Africa but provide a new platform to discuss the disruption the travel industry is facing but also debate the future of travel and tourism in Africa.
