Eastern Cape Travel is an amazing place to visit, and one that every person should see at least once.

A recent tour of the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency took us to the most spectacular places and scenes. Here are five great places to visit in Eastern Cape.

The Wild Coast

Who should visit? This is a great place to take the family.

What it is famous for: Windswept cliffs. Deserted white-beaches. Forests.

What to see: This area is home to two nature reserves, Hluleka (for bird watching), Mkhambati (for fishing), which offer affordable accommodations, game viewing, bird-watching, whale viewing, and fishing activities.

Sunshine Coast

Who should visit? Adventure seekers.

It’s a wonderful place to visit and perfect for outdoor lovers.

What to see: You should visit the Jikeleza Route. This is often called “The Wild Coast’s quiet area”. It is made up a group of more than fifty tourism attractions. The Jikeleza Route offers over 28 unique accommodation establishments, ranging in quality from five-star luxury boutique hotel to backpackers.

This mild to wild bush-to beach route is located just 30 km from East London Airport.

Karoo Heartland

Who should travel: A tourist looking for the sun.

What it is most known for: Karoo Heartland’s reputation as an environment-region is based on its wide range of activities.

What to look for: The country’s best sunsets, star-gazing, and sunsets.

Amathole Mountain Escape Route

Who should visit: Anyone who is interested in a cultural experience.

It’s best known for: Amathole Mountain Escape Route. This route runs from Hogsback to the Great Fish River (south) and the Dwesa/Cwebe Nature Reserve, east. It is rich with Settler history as well as Xhosa cultural heritage.

What to do: The Amatola Mountains, a densely forested area known for its breathtaking views, are the main attractions. Hogsback is located at the Mountain pass’s top. J.R.R. Tolkien of the Lord of the Rings trilogy discovered his inspiration to create Middle Earth in the magic Hogsback environs. They also offer hiking trails.
