Fabulous Sacramento: Main Sights You Cannot Miss

When planning an independent trip to the United States, namely to California, many often do not pay attention to the amazing cities that lie outside the “promoted” tourist attractions.

Sacramento is one of these undeservedly least popular cities. However, this is one of the oldest California cities and the current capital of California.

How to start exploring the city?

The first thing to do is to hire a car. The majority of travelers finds the Enterprise Sacramento airport phone number, call them and choose a certain car. Another way – book the car through the Internet or right at the airport after arrival.  Tourists must begin an acquaintance with the city walking around the old part of it. This will allow you to feel the spirit of the treasure hunters. The whole architecture, though restored, but retained the amazing style of those times. In addition, the wooden sidewalks were left unchanged, and part of the old railway was not modernized. It will also be interesting to visit the great Fort Sutter. Of the modern architectural monuments, the impressive size of the pyramid Ziggurat, built on the riverbank, stands out.

What other interesting sights are waiting for you?

First wooden school

In Sacramento, there is the first wooden school that anyone can attend, and you can learn free on how the education and upbringing of children of that time took place.

Capitol

One of the first monumental buildings in the city, oddly enough, is the California State Capitol, built in 1874. Perfect from an architectural point of view, the complex is surrounded, besides, by a picturesque park. In the Capitol is located the City Museum with an extensive exhibition devoted to the complex and full of interesting events in the history of Sacramento.

Crocker Art Museum

Using Enterprise in Sacramento gives you the possibility to visit this amazing place. The collection of art stored in the mansion built in 1870 is perhaps the worthiest in the whole state. Here there was a place for classical, modern painting, small sculpture, and ceramics. In addition, of course, an important place in the permanent exhibition is occupied by the work of Californian artists.

California State Railroad Museum

Both children and adults will almost certainly enjoy the museum of the history of American railways – there are locomotives and trains for fans and technicians, and ancient napkins, porcelain dinner sets, appliances and candelabra from dining cars for lovers of beautiful things. On the second floor of the museum, there is a collection of toy railways.

Zoo

In addition, it is recommendable to visit the local Zoo. Of course, it is in many respects and in size, concedes to the zoo, which is located in San Diego (by the way you can compare them taking a car from Enterprise car rental SMF airport). Nevertheless, here a cozier atmosphere reigns and the animals are in comfortable conditions for them. The most important favorites of visitors in the Sacramento Zoo are giraffes. It is also worth noting that these are the largest animals here. The zoo is located in the main park of William Land Park. Here you relax after a long way, play golf and enjoy the surrounding nature. In general, Sacramento can be proud of its parks, which are already eight dozen in the city.

Opera and Ballet Theatre

You can diversify your leisure time in Sacramento by going to a ballet (after all, there is a permanent city ballet troupe here) or by visiting one of the classical music concerts, which are regularly given by the local symphony orchestra. In the evening, sit in your car from car rental in Sacramento and get to the theatre as a real intellectual.
