South Africa boasts many beautiful fishing spots. Blessed with a coastline almost 3 000 kilometres long, and numerous dams, lakes, rivers and streams, South Africa has plenty to offer the fishing enthusiast.
Sadly due to the uncontrolled crime throughout the country this activity is not recommended when traveling to South Africa.
Robbers killed an angler on Strandfontein beach, a popular fishing and recreation spot on June 8, 2014.
“It appears that the two anglers had gone early-morning fishing at Strandfontein beach when they were attacked by a number of men,” said Clint Abraham, deputy station commander of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) at Strandfontein.
