The Totalsports Women\u2019s Race Durban has attracted the attention of a number of Elite Female runners including Lebogang Phalula, Rutendo Nyahora and Mapaseka Makhanya.<\/p>\n

Taking place at Kings Park Athletics Track this coming Sunday (16 July 2017), the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race\u2019s fast, flat route will not only pit runners against each other but also against the clock as they\u2019ll be running to better their personal best (PB) finishing times over a 10km distance.<\/p>\n

According to Phalula, she loves running in Durban because of the flat routes.\u00a0 \u201cI will definitely be going for a PB,\u201d says Phalula.\u00a0 \u201cI love the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race because it\u2019s only for the ladies.\u00a0 We only have to compete against each other on the day.\u00a0 Competition is, however, getting tougher with a lot of new faces on the start line lately.\u00a0 My goal is to focus on my race.\u00a0 It\u2019ll be a big achievement for me should I win this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Nyahora it\u2019s the distance and the competition that attracts her to the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s nice not having to compete with male runners on the day,\u201d says Nyahora.\u00a0 \u201cA lot of top female athletes take part in this race.\u00a0 Competition on the day will be strong.\u00a0 I am hoping for a top three position.\u201d<\/p>\n

Makhanya will make her Totalsports Women\u2019s Race Durban debut on the day.\u00a0 \u201cI enjoy participating in sporting events that support and uplift women,\u201d says Makhanya.\u00a0 \u201cI am really looking forward to the race.\u00a0 The competition will be tough, but healthy.\u00a0 A win won\u2019t come easily.\u00a0 My goal is to go out and do my best, but most of all enjoy the race.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to a great run and meeting and encouraging other women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charity Support<\/u>:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Totalsports Women\u2019s Race support PinkDrive, a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.\u00a0 Entrants are invited to \u201cRun For Life\u201d at this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n
