The\u00a0Youth Charter (www.YouthCharter.org<\/a>) has issued a renewed call for African governments, institutions, and development partners to invest in\u00a0sport-led education models\u00a0as a proven pathway to delivering\u00a0UN Sustainable Development Goal 4\u00a0(https:\/\/apo-opa.co\/4tif1zh<\/a>) (Quality Education)\u00a0across the continent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

With Africa home to the world\u2019s fastest-growing youth population, the Youth Charter (www.YouthCharter.org<\/a>) warns that failure to invest in inclusive, community-based education risks deepening inequality, unemployment, and social instability.<\/p>\n

\u201cSport is one of Africa\u2019s greatest untapped education assets,\u201d said Professor Geoff Thompson MBE, Founder and Chair of Youth Charter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen aligned with community infrastructure and youth leadership, it becomes a powerful engine for education, wellbeing, and sustainable development.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the centre of the Youth Charter\u2019s approach is its\u00a0Community Campus (https:\/\/apo-opa.co\/4tif3XV<\/a>) model, which integrates sport, culture, arts, and digital learning within local communities. Delivered by trained\u00a0Social Coaches\u00a0and shaped through the\u00a0Youthwise educational experience, the model supports young people\u2019s\u00a0mental, physical, and emotional development\u00a0while creating pathways into education, employment, and leadership.<\/p>\n

The organisation also reiterated its long-standing call for\u00a0free education for all children and young people, with targeted support for those from historically disadvantaged and conflict-affected communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cYoung people must be co-creators of education, not passive recipients,\u201d Thompson added.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvesting in Africa\u2019s youth is not charity, it is the smartest return on investment the continent can make.\u201d<\/p>\n

Youth Charter is calling on African governments, regional bodies, and international partners to embed sport for development within national education strategies, youth policies, and major sporting legacies.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
