Julius Acon, an Olympian, took the 1500 metres race in 5:23.5, narrowly beating Kenya\u2019s Titus Lotee (5:24.0). Kenya\u2019s John Kagucha completed the podium with a third-place finish in 5:54.08.<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Christine Akello won the women\u2019s race clocking 8:30, followed by Kenya\u2019s Hon. Phylis Barioo, Uganda\u2019s Hellen Auma and Gorreth Namugga.<\/p>\n<p>Benard Odoi (Uganda) won the men\u2019s 400m, edging Rwanda\u2019s Nyabyenda Damien; while Rwanda\u2019s Germaine Mukabalisa produced a dominant run to take first place, with Christine Akello (Uganda) finishing second, and Abeja Suzan taking third.<\/p>\n<p>Kenya\u2019s Vincent Musau won hit 1 in the 100 metres followed by Uganda\u2019s Patrick Ocan and Rwanda\u2019s Nyabyenda Damien; while Benard Kitur led EALA\u2019s Ali Machano, Rwanda\u2019s Kanamugire James, and Uganda\u2019s Tom Aza in hit 2.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s race, Kenya\u2019s Catherine Omanyo took top spot, followed by Hellen Auma (Uganda), Germaine Mukabalisa (Rwanda) and Anna Adeke (Uganda).<\/p>\n<p>Uganda continued its success on the track by clinching the women\u2019s 4\u00d7100m relay, through Agnes Taka, Adeke, Akello and Hellen Auma. Kenyans won the men\u2019s race as a baton drop saw the Ugandan men finish fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Athletics Continue on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Hon. Twaha Kagabo\u2019s first half penalty and a Hon. John Lematia\u2019s strike in the 71st minute secured Uganda\u2019s 2 \u2013 1 win against their eastern neighbours at the MTN Omondi Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Kenya\u2019s goal was scored in 87th minute of the game, with Hon. Letipila Eli Dominic putting the shot past Hon.
