Corns typically form on the toes or sides of the feet, with a central core that can press into the skin, causing pain. Calluses are larger, flat areas of thickened skin that usually form on the soles of the feet. While they are the body\u2019s way of protecting the skin from the repeated friction associated with long-distance running, they can become uncomfortable or even painful for runners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; color: #7f7f7f;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; color: black;\">How to avoid:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; color: black;\"> Wear properly fitted shoes that reduce friction and pressure on the feet.
