Runners and walkers participating in the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race<\/strong> (5km or 10km) in Johannesburg <\/strong>on Saturday, 17 August 2024 will be treated to an incredible live performance by South African singer and songwriter, Nkosazana Daughter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an artist dedicated to empowering women, it means a lot to me that the organisers have invited me to entertain runners, walkers, and supporters at the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race in Johannesburg,\u201d says Nkosozana Daughter<\/em><\/strong>. \u201cAs a woman, I understand the challenges women face in fighting for their place in any industry and constantly having to “prove” they are equally deserving of certain spaces. It\u2019s an honor for me to be a part of this initiative. As an artist dedicated to inspiring women to be empowered, I\u2019m humbled that the event organizers chose me to be part of such a meaningful event. It\u2019s a privilege to entertain participants who share my beliefs in women\u2019s empowerment.\u201d<\/p>\n

In closing she adds: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be part of this event, as its purpose aligns closely with my beliefs. Runners, walkers, and spectators can look forward to a high-energy and fun performance designed to loosen those racing muscles.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Totalsports Women’s Race is a mass participation, women’s only road race that take place across three major cities (Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg) and caters to both social runners and elite athletes.
