We extend a warm invitation to every runner and supporter to join us in this endeavor. We can\u2019t wait to celebrate the resilience and strength of women during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all the while emphasizing the significance of a wholesome lifestyle and mental wellness. Come join us in this celebration of women, well-being, and so much more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) is proudly co-hosting the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race, under the auspices of Western Province Association (WPA), taking place on Sunday 01 October 2023. Moreover, this event aligns with The Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA) &#8211; World Walking Day Initiative, which supports DCAS\u2019 commitment to fostering an active community. DCAS is dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and mental wellness of its staff members and their families. By co-hosting the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race, DCAS celebrates physical activity and mental well-being. Having families that walk together, talk together makes a positive impact to a productive working and social life.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Anroux Marais Provincial MEC for DCAS, an avid walker, will START and participate in the 5km. This is what she has to say:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very important that we focus on the holistic wellbeing of all the people of the Western Cape. Living active lifestyles is not only important for physical health but also promotes mental wellbeing. Our department remains committed to creating a healthy and connected Western Cape Province and I will proudly join this walk to promote active lifestyles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDCAS, by co-hosting the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race, sees this as a steppingstone to a Provincial Walk &#8211; \u2018The Big Walk \u2013 for the active you!!\u2019 \u2013 taking place on the first Sunday of October 2024!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EVENT INFORMATION: 2023 Totalsports Women\u2019s Race<\/p>\n<p>The Totalsports Women\u2019s Race encourages a healthy lifestyle and invites all women (grandmothers, aunts, sisters, mothers, and daughters) to run united in support of PinkDrive.<\/p>\n<p>Date: Sunday 01 October 2023<br \/>\nVenue: Start &amp; Finish Grand Parade, Cape Town<br \/>\nStart Time: 08:00<\/p>\n<p>Number Collection Information:<br \/>\n\u2022 If entrants successfully received their race pack on 06 &#8211; 08 August or on 21 &amp; 22 August, they will be able to run using their received race number. No need to collect a new number.<br \/>\n\u2022 If entrants have lost their number, they will need to collect a new race number at Grand Parade on 29 September between 10h00 &#8211; 19h00 or 30 September between 10h00 &#8211; 16h00. They will need to bring their ID.<br \/>\n\u2022 If entrants did not collect their race number, they will need to do so at Grand Parade on 29 September between 10h00 &#8211; 19h00 or 30 September between 10h00 &#8211; 16h00. They will receive their goodie bag and a race number, and will need to bring their ID.<\/p>\n<p>PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, new entries WILL NOT be taken!<\/p>\n<p>CHARITY SUPPORT: The Totalsports Women\u2019s Race proudly supports PinkDrive. A Non-Profit Company (NPC), PinkDrive is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>PRIZE PURSE: The Totalsports Women\u2019s Race Cape Town boasts a R67 500.00 prize purse. Prize money has been allocated to the Top Ten finishers in the Open Category, with the Open Winner taking home R12 000,00, the second-place finisher R10 000,00 and the third-place finisher R8 000,00. Prize money has also been allocated to the top 3 finishers in the Junior, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+ categories.
