{"id":51620,"date":"2023-08-08T15:30:48","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T13:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/?p=51620"},"modified":"2023-08-08T15:30:48","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T13:30:48","slug":"seoposengwe-and-seboko-set-for-absa-run-your-city-tshwane-10k-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/more-sport\/seoposengwe-and-seboko-set-for-absa-run-your-city-tshwane-10k-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Seoposengwe and Seboko set for Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K debut!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The inaugural Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K is set to see some incredible racing on Sunday 27 August 2023 as the next generation of athletes, Nicholas Seoposengwe and Kabelo Seboko, both running in the colours of Boxer Athletics Club, enter the fray.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholas proved that he should not be underestimated when he claimed victory at the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K in 2022, while Kabelo became the latest addition to the illustrious sub-28-minute club when he claimed gold at the Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K early in July.<\/p>\n<p>Seboko\u2019s victory at the Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K saw him become only the 4<sup>th<\/sup> South African athlete to break the 28 minute mark in the last two years when he crossed the line in 27:56, taking a whopping 35 seconds off his previous best 10k time of 28:31. In the process he dragged Thabang Mosiako to his second sub 28 minute time in four months and also former SA 10km Record Holder, Stephen Mokoka to his first ever sub 28 minute run on South African soil.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing feeling to break 28 minutes. Sometimes it still shocks me to think that I achieved that,\u201d said Seboko. \u201cThe result has built my confidence and self-belief. The talented athlete has big plans for the series, as he turns his attention to the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited to race the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K. It&#8217;s a big event for me and a very well organized one. I am preparing well for it,\u201d confirms Seboko. \u201cI will approach the race with confidence but with control. I aim to be prepared for anything and to respond to any race situation in the best way that I can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The addition of the latest sub-28-minute 10k athlete to the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K has brought an added element to the race. But neither Seboko, nor Precious Mashele (who has also already confirmed his entry) can sit back and take it easy as the field is beginning to deepen. In addition to the 22-year-old Nicholas Seoposengwe, the impressive field will also include stalwarts Elroy Gelant and Gladwin Mzazi.
