{"id":50156,"date":"2023-03-23T22:35:06","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T20:35:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/football\/fifa-starts-bidding-process-for-fifa-womens-world-cup-2027\/"},"modified":"2023-03-23T22:35:06","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T20:35:06","slug":"fifa-starts-bidding-process-for-fifa-womens-world-cup-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/football\/fifa-starts-bidding-process-for-fifa-womens-world-cup-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA starts bidding process for FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2027\u2122"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"press-body-in\">\n                            <span><br \/>\n                                                            ZURICH, Switzerland, March 23, 2023\/APO Group\/ &#8212;<br \/>\n                                                        <\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Most comprehensive bidding process in the history of the competition; Member associations to express interest by 21 April 2023; Tournament host(s) expected to be appointed by the FIFA Congress\u00a0(<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">www.FIFA.com<\/a>) on 17 May 2024.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>FIFA\u00a0launched the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup\u2122 today, with the Congress expected to appoint, for the first time ever, the host(s) of the 2027 edition on 17 May 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The process for the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2027\u2122 maintains all key elements from the successful FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023\u2122 bidding process, such as the publication of key content and documentation, the inclusion of robust rules of conduct and the implementation of a comprehensive evaluation model.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the 2027 process has been further enhanced to include the following new elements:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decision-making process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FIFA Council will select up to three bids, with the FIFA Congress then voting to appoint the host(s) through an open vote.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bid Evaluation Task Force<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FIFA will establish a Bid Evaluation Task Force to evaluate all bids submitted for the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2027. The composition of the Bid Evaluation Task Force will be approved by the FIFA Council following confirmation of the bidding member associations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional integrity measures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to appointing an independent audit company to monitor FIFA\u2019s compliance with the principles and procedures of the bidding process, each bidder will also be required to appoint a Bid Compliance and Ethics Officer to monitor their compliance with the bidding process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key dates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Member associations will have until 21\u00a0April 2023 to submit their expressions of interest to host the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Other key dates include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>19 May 2023: <\/strong>Member associations to confirm their interest in bidding to host the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup by submitting the Bidding Agreement<\/p>\n<p><strong>August 2023: <\/strong>Bid workshop and observer programme to take place during the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8\u00a0December 2023: <\/strong>Member associations to submit their bids to FIFA<\/p>\n<p><strong>February 2024:<\/strong> FIFA to organise on-site inspection visits to bidding countries<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2024:<\/strong> Publication of FIFA\u2019s Bid Evaluation Report<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q2 2024:<\/strong> Designation of bids by the FIFA Council<\/p>\n<p><strong>17 May 2024:<\/strong> Appointment of the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2027 host(s) by the FIFA Congress<\/p>\n<p>The above dates are subject to change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2027 will build on the legacy of the record-breaking edition that Australia and New Zealand are due to organise in a few months.
