The Official Poster for the FIFA (www.FIFA.com<\/a>) World Cup Qatar 2022\u2122 was unveiled during a special event at Hamad International Airport.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n For the first time, a series of posters has been developed for the tournament \u2013 all designed by Qatari female artist, Bouthayna Al Muftah. The main poster depicts traditional headwear being thrown in the air \u2013 something which symbolises celebration and football fandom across Qatar and the Arab world. The seven supporting posters showcase the Arab world\u2019s passion for football and the game as something that brings families together.<\/p>\n \u201cMy main inspiration was the concept of collective memory,\u201d said Al Muftah. \u201cMost of my work focuses on past experiences, memories, tying them to the present and archiving them in a contemporary manner. I wanted the posters to follow this theme and tell the story of Qatar\u2019s football culture.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cI wanted each poster to show celebration and football fandom in Qatar. The main poster depicts the \u2018gutra\u2019 and \u2018egal\u2019 [traditional headwear] being waved in the air in a celebratory manner \u2013 which is something fans do here when a goal is scored.\u201d<\/p>\n FIFA Marketing Director, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Pathy, said: \u201cThe Official Poster for Qatar 2022 is an atmospheric reflection of Qatar\u2019s artistic and football heritage. We are very proud of this beautiful series of posters that portray Qatar\u2019s passion for football and shines a global spotlight on such a talented, female local artist.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThese stunning posters symbolise our love of football and our excitement at hosting the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world,\u201d said Khalid Al Mawlawi, Deputy Director General, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.<\/p>\n \u201cOur traditional headwear features prominently across many tournament assets \u2013 including the design of one our stadiums, Al Thumama, the tournament logo, the Official Mascot, La\u2019eeb, and now the Official Poster.
