Star-studded draw reveals groups for 16 of the world\u2019s best youth teams<\/em>; FIFA (<\/em>www.FIFA.com<\/a>) U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup\u2122 2022 to take place in Costa Rica from 10 to 28 August<\/em>; Register at <\/em>FIFA.com\/tickets<\/em><\/a> for the latest ticketing news and information<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Draw for the FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup 2022\u2122 was held today at the Teatro Nacional in San Jos\u00e9, revealing the pathway to glory for the 16 participating teams and fans around the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023\u2122 (https:\/\/fifa.fans\/38YUQRS<\/a>) fast approaching, some of the world\u2019s best young players and future superstars of the women\u2019s game will take to the field at the FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup\u2122 in Costa Rica from 10 to 28 August 2022.<\/p>\n

Hosts Costa Rica will kick off their campaign and the tournament against FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023 co-hosts, Australia, and will be joined by Brazil and Spain in Group A. Reigning champions, Japan, were drawn in Group D together with Netherlands, Ghana and USA.<\/p>\n

As the first FIFA draw to be live-streamed on FIFA+ (https:\/\/fifa.fans\/3sisZmF<\/a>), the star-studded event featured a celebration of women\u2019s football and Costa Rican culture, as well as messages from President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Mr Carlos Alvarado Quesada, FEDEFUTBOL President, Rodolfo Villalobos, and FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.<\/p>\n

Athlete and TV presenter Johanna Solano, presented the draw and was joined by Costa Rican football icons Shirley Cruz and Paulo C\u00e9sar Wanchope along with draw conductor Jaime Yarza, FIFA\u2019s Director of Tournaments.<\/p>\n
