{"id":43580,"date":"2022-05-03T21:30:05","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T19:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/football\/procedures-for-fifa-u-20-womens-world-cup-2022-draw-now-available\/"},"modified":"2022-05-03T21:30:05","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T19:30:05","slug":"procedures-for-fifa-u-20-womens-world-cup-2022-draw-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/football\/procedures-for-fifa-u-20-womens-world-cup-2022-draw-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Procedures for FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup 2022\u2122 draw now available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"press-body-in\">\n                            <span><br \/>\n                                                            ZURICH, Switzerland, May 3, 2022\/APO Group\/ &#8212;<br \/>\n                                                        <\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Draw for FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup Costa Rica 2022\u2122 to take place on Thursday, 5 May.\u00a0<em>Costa Rican stars Shirley Cruz and Paulo C\u00e9sar Wanchope confirmed as draw assistants.\u00a0<em>Draw to be streamed live on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/extranets.fifa.com\/Public\/MailClickTrackingHandler.ashx?id=2076046_en&amp;name=7awH4q5P3ws%3d&amp;target=f%2baONvpNyUd6Q4r8MEyh6ZWb50wh0ZDkPDnoGI%2fhO%2fZ9QN%2fhtf6XjQ%3d%3d\" rel=\"noopener\">FIFA+<\/a>\u00a0(<\/em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fifa.fans\/3kDWL18\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/fifa.fans\/3kDWL18<\/a>).<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The procedures for the Draw for the FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup Costa Rica 2022\u2122 are now available.<\/p>\n<p>With the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023\u2122 fast approaching, some of the world\u2019s best young players and future superstars of the women\u2019s game will take to the field at the FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup\u2122 in Costa Rica from 10 to 28 August 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Taking place at 13:00 (local time) on Thursday, 5 May at the Teatro Nacional in San Jos\u00e9, the Draw for the FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 is one of the final milestones in the lead-up to the tournament and will be where fans and the 16 participating teams learn the route that lies ahead in the quest to lift the coveted trophy in August.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by athlete and TV presenter Johanna Solano, the draw will feature two stars of Costa Rican football, Shirley Cruz and Paulo C\u00e9sar Wanchope, as draw assistants, while Jaime Yarza, FIFA\u2019s Director of Tournaments, will conduct the draw.<\/p>\n<p>The Draw for the FIFA U-20 Women\u2019s World Cup 2022 will also be the first FIFA draw to be streamed live on FIFA+ (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fifa.fans\/3kDWL18\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/fifa.fans\/3kDWL18<\/a>)<em>\u00a0<\/em>following the platform\u2019s recent launch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Draw procedures summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the draw procedures, the 16 participating teams have been allocated to four pots of four teams each, based on a ranking created according to past sporting performance.<\/p>\n<p>With qualification around the world now complete, the line-up for the tournament is as follows: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Korea Republic, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Spain, the USA and hosts Costa Rica.<\/p>\n<p>The draw will start with four pots labelled 1 to 4 representing the teams. The four pots representing the groups will be labelled A to D.
