South Africa\u2019s premier 3-Day Stage Race, the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN <\/strong>will celebrate its 12th<\/sup> anniversary at the picturesque Houw Hoek Hotel (Bot River, Overberg Region \/Western Cape) from Saturday 19 to Monday 21 March 2022.<\/p>\n One of the many highlights of this iconic trail running celebration is \u201cDress Up Day\u201d which will be celebrated on the third and final stage, on Monday 21 March.<\/p>\n \u201cOne thing that Dress Up Day has taught us is that the trail running community has a great sense of humour,\u201d says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN. \u201cEvery year the outfits just get better and better. We\u2019ve had runners dressed as super-heroes and\/or villains, we\u2019ve had doctors and nurses, trail runners dressed in animal suits, there\u2019s been various Disney Characters and even sporting heroes to mention just a few. Last year a team arrived at the start line on Day 3 carrying a kayak on their shoulders. The Dress Up competition definitely adds an element of creativity and fun to an already exciting event. Runners and spectators are literally in stitches at the start of the stage.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis year Dress Up Day will once again take place on the final stage, Stage Three, on the Monday,\u201d continues Meyer. \u201cThe rule is very simple, we are looking for commitment and flair, and both runners need to wear their outfits for the duration of the stage, from start to finish. There are awesome sponsor prizes up for grabs as well as bragging rights for a year.
