Mountain bikers can look forward to experiencing heaven on a mountain bike at the 8th<\/sup> annual Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience that will take place in the picturesque City of Oaks (Stellenbosch) on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November 2021.<\/p>\n

An individual 2-day MTB Stage Race, the Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience routes highlight the beauty and splendor of Stellenbosch. Mountain bikers can look forward to experiencing a vast network of world-class and exclusive trails while celebrating the origin of SA mountain biking.<\/p>\n

\u201cAffectionately dubbed the \u2018MTB Party of the year\u2019, mountain bikers will be treated to an on-route party from start to finish,\u201d says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Event. \u201cBoth Days will start and finish at the Stellenbosch High School. Stage 1 of the Marathon will treat entrants to long, single-track climbs, fun filled technical descents and open road flat sections. Look forward to experiencing the iconic Jonkershoek Trails and yes Irish – the long and winding climb at the Jonkershoek entrance \u2013 will be in the mix.\u00a0 Your reward will be stunning views of the Jonkershoek Valley. Farms that will be traversed will include Lanzerac, Rudera Wines, Old Nectar Gardens, Ride In and Rivierbosch.\u00a0 Half Marathon riders will experience sections of this route before heading back to the finish.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStage 2 of the Marathon will start with an undulated climb, followed by kilometers of smooth winding single- track,\u201d continues Meyer. \u201cThe beautiful Banhoek Valley is iconic to this stage, while the Klein Bethlehem single tracks are out of this world. Look forward to experiencing the biggest berms you will find in the Stellenbosch area. Farms that will form part of this route includes DeMorgenzon, Bartinney Wines, Zeven Rivieren, Klein Bethlehem, Zorgvliet, Summercourt, Thelema and Tokara. Again the Half Marathon Route will incorporate sections of this route, riders are definitely in for a treat.\u201d<\/p>\n

In closing Meyer adds: \u201cThe Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience will treat riders to the best trails on offer in Stellenbosch. Remember that temperatures can soar in Stellenbosch around this time of the year. Although the water points will be fully stocked, we encourage riders to also carry enough water with them. We cannot wait to welcome riders to the 2021 on-route \u2018MTB Party of the year\u2019!\u201d<\/p>\n
