{"id":42519,"date":"2021-08-31T22:30:06","date_gmt":"2021-08-31T20:30:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/football\/fifa-has-entrusted-the-african-union-of-broadcasting-with-the-management-of-the-2022-fifa-world-cup-qualifiers-rights-in-17-sub-saharan-countries\/"},"modified":"2021-08-31T22:30:06","modified_gmt":"2021-08-31T20:30:06","slug":"fifa-has-entrusted-the-african-union-of-broadcasting-with-the-management-of-the-2022-fifa-world-cup-qualifiers-rights-in-17-sub-saharan-countries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/football\/fifa-has-entrusted-the-african-union-of-broadcasting-with-the-management-of-the-2022-fifa-world-cup-qualifiers-rights-in-17-sub-saharan-countries\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA has entrusted the African Union of Broadcasting with the Management of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Rights in 17 Sub-Saharan countries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"press-body-in\">\n                            <span><br \/>\n                                                            DAKAR, Senegal, August 31, 2021\/APO Group\/ &#8212;<br \/>\n                                                        <\/span><\/p>\n<p>As a prelude to the next FIFA World Cup that will take place in 2022, in Qatar, the African Union of Broadcasting (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uar-aub.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\">www.uar-AUB.org<\/a> ) has been handed the Free-To-Air rights for the Qualifying matches in 17 Countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, thus making AUB the exclusive Partner for the commercialization of the rights in the following countries:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Zambia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In previous months, FIFA (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">www.FIFA.com<\/a>) launched an Invitation to Tender for the Commercialization of the terrestrial free-to-air rights in the Sub-Saharan Africa Region.<\/p>\n<p>The Tender process revealed that AUB was the winner of the rights in some 17 countries ready to broadcast the event for the good of football fans.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification process is a series of tournaments organized by the six FIFA Confederations to decide 31 of the 32 teams that will play the FIFA World Cup, with Qatar qualifying automatically as host.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Qualifiers process opened in 2019 but suffered numerous postponements due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the qualification process, five African Nations will represent the continent in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Tournament.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/african-union-of-broadcasting.africa-newsroom.com\/press\/fifa-has-entrusted-the-african-union-of-broadcasting-with-the-management-of-the-2022-fifa-world-cup-qualifiers-rights-in-17-subsaharan-countries?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DAKAR, Senegal, August 31, 2021\/APO Group\/ &#8212;
