The picturesque Blaauwklippen Wine Estate (Stellenbosch) will be buzzing with excitement on Saturday 11 September 2021 when eager mountain bikers between 1 – 13 years of age line up to experience the excitement of the 2021 Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event!<\/p>\n

Celebrating its 6th<\/sup> anniversary in 2021, the Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event is a highlight on the SA mountain bike calendar.\u00a0 Catering for ages 1 \u2013 13, junior MTB enthusiasts can choose between a:\u00a0 500m (1-5 years), 1.5km (6-9 years) and a 5km (10 \u2013 13 years) event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event has proven to be the source of a lot of excitement,\u201d says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the event.\u00a0 \u201cThe jury is still out on who enjoys the event more, the children or the parents.\u00a0 One thing is for sure, it\u2019s the perfect day out for the entire family.\u00a0 The routes are safe and short enough for mom and\/or dad to run alongside junior if they so wish.\u00a0 It is not a race, instead the Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event is about being active by getting outdoors and having fun.\u00a0 The Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event will therefore not be timed. We can\u2019t wait to welcome SA\u2019s future stars to a mountain biking celebration like no other.\u201d<\/p>\n

We understand how hard it was for youngsters to be cooped up at home during the lockdown, and as such this event truly is a celebration of health, fitness and being outdoors once again. In 2019, Suri Anthony (who was 8 at the time) was happy with her performance on the day.\u00a0 \u201cThe best part is when I rode away from my Daddy who ran next to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ivan Malan (who was 9 at the time) made his Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event debut in 2019.\u00a0 \u201cI enjoyed the event.\u00a0 There were a lot of climbs, downhills and rocks.\u00a0 It was very nice.\u201d<\/p>\n
