South Africa’s Kevin Anderson on Thursday cruised into the third round of the US Open, beating American Austin Krajicek in straight sets.<\/p>\n

The 15th seed won 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 to set up a third round date with Austria’s Dominic Thiem, who went through after Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin retired two sets down in their clash.<\/p>\n

Anderson, the South African No 1, had started his campaign with a four-sets victory over 17-year-old Andrey Rublev from Russia on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
