Dehydration\u201a fatigue\u201a sharks and hyperthermia will come into play\u201a but those won\u2019t faze Josh Enslin.<\/p>\n
Instead\u201a the Port Elizabeth surfer sees his Guinness World Record attempt as being \u201cjust between me and the ocean and my longest surf session ever\u201d.<\/p>\n
November has been pencilled in for Enslin\u2019s endeavour to better American\u2019s Ben Shaw mark of 29 hours 27 minutes for the longest surfing marathon. That was set just under a year ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am stoked to give the World Record an attempt\u201a\u201d said Enslin.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would be rad to have the world record title on our South African shore line.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Enslin admitted that he is \u201csuper-excited\u201a anxious and nervous all in one\u201d\u201a he said that \u201cthe oceans\u2019 elements play the factor here\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be all about keeping a good balance but that\u2019s hard when Mother Nature is in control.\u201d<\/p>\n
Few record attempts come without a charity aspect\u201a and Enslin\u2019s will be no deifferent.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe other aspect to the event will be a massive donation drive alongside the record attempt\u201a\u201d said Enslin.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will be gathering and donating old surf equipment and old wetsuits and blankets and canned food that Cyoh Surf Club will donate to underprivileged surfers around our surf community\u201a and we will be donating blankets and canned food to the street children of Port Elizabeth.\u201d<\/p>\n
