The Mother City is set to shine on National Women\u2019s Day (Friday, 09 August 2019) when thousands of runners and walkers take on the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race in support of PinkDrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnlike the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race in Durban (taking place on the same day), the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race Cape Town does not feature a fast flat route,\u201d says Agne du Plessis, Stillwater Sports:\u00a0 General Manager Road Running.\u00a0 \u201cThe Cape Town route includes a few hills, so running a personal best will not be on the cards. The oldest city in South Africa, Cape Town boasts dozens of beautiful and historical buildings and iconic landmarks.\u00a0 Both the 5km and 10km races will start and finish in front of the Cape Town City Hall.\u00a0 Other iconic landmarks to look out for on route will include:\u00a0 the Company Gardens, South African National Gallery, South African Jewish Museum and District Six to mention just a few.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRunners will be in awe of the splendour of the Mother City,\u201d continues du Plessis.\u00a0 \u201cThe calming setting of the Company Gardens, serenity of the harbour and stunning Table Bay views at the top of District Six will add a special ambiance to this much anticipated Women\u2019s Day celebration.\u00a0 Entrants can look forward to a fantastic day out with family and friends. \u00a0\u00a0This year we\u2019d like to share the message that women are #StrongerTogether. \u00a0\u00a0Join us as we run in support of PinkDrive.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the first time since the events inception in 2001, South Africa\u2019s largest Women\u2019s Day Celebration, the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race will be hosted on one day (Friday, 09 August 2019 \/ National Women\u2019s Day) across three major cities (Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban).<\/p>\n

PinkDrive will be present at the Totalsports Women\u2019s Race (Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town) offering FREE clinical breast examinations and educating on the importance of self- breast examinations.<\/p>\n
