A group of twenty reputable runners will set the pace for fellow runners (who have very specific finishing goals) at the 5th<\/sup> annual FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN, the Cape\u2019s premier 12km road race, on Sunday, 19 May 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have run and pace set at the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN since the event\u2019s inception in 2015,\u201d says Rassie Pretorius.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s definitely one of the more prestigious events on the calendar.\u00a0 The point to point nature makes it more of an experience.\u00a0 The FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN does not disappoint with unique features that include:\u00a0 a bus pick up at the Grand Parade, a carnival at the start in Milnerton with the Instagram friendly views, entertainment along the route, the novelty of running on the bus lanes and the PUMA Beat Bolt Sprint area where you can test the flexibility of your hamstrings to mention just a few.\u00a0 These features just make the race Top Class.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe aim of pace setting is to run the race in a particular time (at an even effort) in order to assist other runners to run that specific goal time,\u201d continues Pretorius.\u00a0 \u201cPace setting is especially helpful to novice runners that have a specific goal time in mind, but that are not sure at what pace to run.\u00a0 Being a pace setter is very satisfying as you get to help other runners to realize their dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN is one of the few events where we actually have to select a pacing team,\u201d adds Pretorius.\u00a0 \u201cWe will look at their pacing history and record to ensure that we get a very strong team on the day.\u00a0 We will publish all our activities on the Western Province Pace Setters Facebook group.\u00a0 You\u2019ll be able to spot us on the day by looking for the flags that we carry.\u00a0 The goal time will be on the top most flag.\u00a0 We look forward to helping runners realize their dreams at this top class event.\u201d<\/p>\n
