Challenge brings the gees to Stellenbosch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City Of Oaks was buzzing with excitement on Saturday, 06 April 2019 with thousands of adventure seekers eager and ready to experience obstacle course racing at its best at the IMPI Challenge #1 at Coetzenburg (Stellenbosch).<\/p>\n<p>A trail run with a twist, the IMPI Challenge #1 featured a spectacular (and sometimes challenging) trail run route that boasted exciting obstacles (both natural and manmade) including the likes of: \u00a0the Rawson Wall, Vietnam Crawl, Post Box, Wiggle Wiggle, Tyre Wall, Cargo Crossing and the Lily Pads to mention just a few.<\/p>\n<p>Danie Rossouw (Brackenfell) and Ashleigh Singers (Durbanville) were the entrants to beat in the \u201cCompetitive\u201d <strong>IMPI Challenge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Rossouw completed the 10km \u2013 12km trail run course that featured +- 18 fun (but challenging) obstacles in a time of 01 hour 02 minutes 02 seconds.\u00a0 \u201cI did the IMPI because it is a fun event,\u201d said Rossouw.\u00a0 \u201cI love the obstacle.\u00a0 It\u2019s fast and the vibe is good.\u00a0 I\u2019m thankful to my coach, Dominique D&#8217;Oliveira and Nelius Swart.\u00a0 I\u2019ll be back next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Singers claimed gold in the women\u2019s race in a time of 01 hour 32 minutes 52 seconds.\u00a0 \u201cThe IMPI Challenge is the most awesome event ever.\u00a0 The vibe is absolutely stunning and this route is awesome.\u00a0 It\u2019s tough, but you can still finish with makeup on,\u201d laughs Singers.<\/p>\n<p>Niel Reitmann (Durbanville) and Cornelia Burger (Durbanville) took the lead in the \u201cCompetitive\u201d <strong>IMPI Dash<\/strong> that featured a 5km trail run route with +- 12 obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> time that I take part in the IMPI Dash,\u201d said Reitmann.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s such an amazing event, definitely my favourite obstacle course race.\u00a0 I love the competitiveness and there are so many people that I\u2019ve never seen before competing.\u00a0 The obstacles aren\u2019t too challenging, but it does take time.\u00a0 You need the correct technique to complete the obstacles.\u00a0 Coming first feels amazing.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t expect it.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to invite all my friends to take part next time.\u201d\u00a0 Reitmann crossed the finish line in 28 minutes 31 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Burger made her IMPI Dash debut on the day.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m a fitness coach.\u00a0 I train a lot and I enjoy being fit.\u00a0 It\u2019s nice to challenge yourself and see what you are capable of doing.\u00a0 The IMPI Dash gave me the opportunity to test my fitness levels and see what I can do.\u00a0 The obstacles were tough, while the trails were beautiful.\u00a0 Finishing first is like a dream.\u00a0 I trained hard.\u00a0 I\u2019m very thankful and will definitely be back in action at the IMPI Challenge in November.\u201d Burger clocked a well-deserved finishing time of 37 minutes 32 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe IMPI Challenge #1 at Coetzenburg was the perfect start to the 2019 IMPI Challenge season,\u201d said Pieter du Plessis, IMPI Challenge Race Director.\u00a0 \u201cIMPI Warriors got to test their fitness levels, while overcoming their fears in a fun, safe environment.\u00a0 The day was filled with action, laughter and camaraderie.\u00a0 Junior IMPI Warriors also got to take part in the action by signing up for the IMPI Mini (ages 6 \u2013 10 years) or the IMPI Dash (ages 10+).\u00a0 We are thankful to each and every entrant that supported us today.\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>There are <strong>four categories<\/strong> to choose from when entering the IMPI Challenge<\/u>:<\/p>\n<table Dash<\/strong>:\u00a0 5km with 11 obstacles (ages 10+, all adults welcome)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"500\"><strong>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>IMPI
