{"id":27305,"date":"2019-03-19T22:28:31","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T20:28:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/?p=27305"},"modified":"2019-03-19T22:28:31","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T20:28:31","slug":"sizwe-medical-fund-3sixtylife-sign-up-as-title-sponsor-of-asa-senior-track-field-and-combined-events-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/press-release\/sizwe-medical-fund-3sixtylife-sign-up-as-title-sponsor-of-asa-senior-track-field-and-combined-events-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Sizwe Medical Fund &amp; 3SixtyLife sign up as title sponsor of ASA Senior Track &amp; Field and Combined Events Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Johannesburg <\/em>\u2013 Athletics South Africa (ASA) has welcomed <strong>Sizwe Medical Fund &amp; 3SixtyLife<\/strong> as the title sponsor of the ASA Senior Track &amp; Field and Combined Events Championships that will be hosted at the Germiston Athletics Stadium in Johannesburg from Thursday, 25 April 2019 &#8211; Saturday, 27 April 2019.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sponsorship agreement is for the duration of three years and the official name is now <strong>Sizwe Medical Fund &amp; 3SixtyLife ASA <\/strong><strong>Senior Track &amp; Field and Combined Events Championships.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Senior Championships are the pinnacle of the Track &amp; Field Competition in South Africa boasting performances by multiple 800m Olympic and World Champion Caster Semenya, Olympic and 100m World Championship finalist and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Akani Simbine, men\u2019s long jump sensations, Ruswahl Samaai and Luvo Manyonga as well as world record holder in the men\u2019s 400m Olympic and World Champion, Wayde van Niekerk.<\/p>\n<p>As always, South Africa can expect high quality competition with the sprints expected to lead attention where former \u00a0world U18 200m silver medallist, Tlotliso Gift Leotlela will be making his return to the sport after an injury layoff. Will the SA 200m record holder, Clarence Munyai claim his first senior national sprint title? Can the \u201cTornado\u201d from Thembisa, Ryan Mphahlele show his rivals a clean pair of heals in the men\u2019s 1500m? Mphahlele has only just joined the senior ranks and is already making life hard for his more established contemporaries. Will Sunette Viljoen win her 10<sup>th<\/sup> national javelin title and Chris Harmse, will he be taking aim at his 12<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive national hammer throw title?<\/p>\n<p>These are but just some of the incredible duels we can expect at the Championships.
