{"id":26405,"date":"2019-02-18T17:53:03","date_gmt":"2019-02-18T15:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/?p=26405"},"modified":"2019-02-18T17:53:03","modified_gmt":"2019-02-18T15:53:03","slug":"lofstrand-proud-vice-principal-of-2019-puma-school-of-speed-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/press-release\/lofstrand-proud-vice-principal-of-2019-puma-school-of-speed-series\/","title":{"rendered":"L\u00f6fstrand proud Vice Principal of 2019 PUMA School of Speed Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gena L\u00f6fstrand, South African middle-distance runner and Vice Principal of SA\u2019s premier school\u2019s track &amp; field series, the PUMA School of Speed Series, is eagerly awaiting the final two meets, the <strong>PUMA School of Speed #4 <\/strong>(Pretoria) on Saturday, 02 March 2019 and <strong>PUMA School of Speed #5 <\/strong>(Potchefstroom)on Wednesday, 13 March 2019.<\/p>\n<p>L\u00f6fstrand started running cross country in primary school before moving over to track running in high school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy first few achievements were winning SA Senior Champs, SA Opens and SA Junior Champs in 2013 when I was 17,\u201d says L\u00f6fstrand.\u00a0 \u201cAfter that I competed at the World Junior Champs in 2014 where I made the semi-final. I ran my 800m personal best time of 2:01 in 2017, the same year that I competed in my first senior World Championship, making the semi-final.\u00a0 Although 800m is my main event, I sometimes run 400m just for speed work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited to be a PUMA Ambassador.\u00a0 I love everything about the brand and what it stands for. The support that I have received from PUMA has been amazing.\u00a0 They have given me the opportunity to run professionally, allowing me to focus purely on chasing my running dreams.\u00a0 I am proud to be part of the PUMA family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PUMA School of Speed Series is such a great platform for up and coming athletes to showcase their talent and all the hard work that they have put into their sport,\u201d continues L\u00f6fstrand.\u00a0 \u201cThe meets are well organized, well supported and just super exciting to be a part of.\u00a0 The Series gives athletes from all over the country something to work towards and look forward to, a reason to pursue athletics.
