Eleven months after donating 10 billion litres of water<\/a> to the Cape Town water supply, and with just-over one month to go to the 5th<\/sup> annual Sanlam Cape Mile brought to you by Sanlam Investments (taking place on Sunday, 17 February 2019) the Eikenhof Dam boasts a water level of over 70%.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the beginning of 2018 Day Zero was a real concern,\u201d admits Michael Meyer, Managing Director Stillwater Sports.\u00a0 \u201cHowever at just under 40% in February, the dam level was still high enough for us to host a safe and fun filled event in 2018.\u00a0 With things looking up for 2019 we look forward to celebrating the 5th<\/sup> anniversary of the Sanlam Cape Mile with dam levels exceeding 55%.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Willie Landman, General Manager Elgin Grabouw Country Club at the end of February 2018 the dam level was at 38.94% vs. 58.20% in 2017.\u00a0 \u201cIf the irrigation schedule goes according to plan in 2019, the Eikenhof dam levels should be approximately 55% to 65% in February.\u00a0 This is great news for the Sanlam Cape Mile, a fantastic event that is great for both the local community and tourism.\u00a0 Sunday, 17 February is a very important date on our calendar.\u00a0 We look forward to the event every year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrating its 5th<\/sup> anniversary at the Eikenhof Dam (Elgin-Grabouw Country Club, Western Cape) on Sunday, 17 February 2019, the Western Cape\u2019s premier open water swim, the Sanlam Cape Mile brought to you by Sanlam Investments will boast two exciting distances:\u00a0 a 1 mile (1.6km) and a refreshing 500m swim.<\/p>\n
