Celebrating its 6th<\/sup> anniversary in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 24 and Sunday, 25 November 2018, South Africa\u2019s premier 2-day MTB Experience, the Origin Of Trails MTB Experience will boast live performances by two prominent South African bands:\u00a0 BrotherBrother (on Saturday) and Stone Jets (on Sunday).<\/p>\n

Consisting of brothers Theunis (guitar, vocals and bass) and Roelof (vocals and guitar) van der Merwe and friend (turned brother), Paul Avenant (percussion, vocals and Cajon), BrotherBrother has started carving a big name for itself in the South African Music Industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheunis and I have been making music together from a very young age, but it was only after the addition of Paul that the band became a more permanent feature and we had to think of a name.\u00a0 BrotherBrother seemed suitable,\u201d confirms Roelof.\u00a0 \u201cAlthough we play a variety of music, our style is heavily folk influenced.\u00a0 This will be the first time that we perform for a group of mountain bikers.\u00a0 We are really looking forward to it.\u00a0 We put a unique twist on well-known songs and love to keep things natural.\u00a0 So there will be no electronic sounds, just pure acoustic instruments and perfectly harmonized vocals.\u00a0 After a long ride, come sit back take it easy and let us make your weekend better with great music and a lekker vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also making their \u201cmountain biking performance\u201d debut at the Origin Of Trails MTB Experience, Stone Jets consists of Manfred Klose (guitar), Eduan Joubert (drums) and Given Nkanyane (vocals and bass).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen deciding on a name for the band, we were looking for something that would constantly remind us of who and what we are and where we come from,\u201d confirms Nkanyane.\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cWe are, essentially, a group of musicians who want to reach the highest heights like jets but still be humble and grounded like stones.\u00a0 We perform toe-tapping pop music that is wrapped in soul and traditional elements.\u00a0 Entrants (mountain bikers and trail runners) and spectators alike can look forward to a day filled with music that is sure to evoke strong emotions!\u201d<\/p>\n

SPECIALIZED BIKE up for grabs<\/u>:<\/strong>\u00a0 One lucky Origin Of Trails MTB Experience rider will take home an awesome Specialized Stumpjumper FSR ST to the value of R30\u00a0000 the weekend of Saturday, 24 and Sunday, 25 November 2018 compliments of the event\u2019s bicycle partner.\u00a0 We will post a riddle to social media.\u00a0 If correctly solved, riders will know where to take a photograph on route during Day 1.\u00a0 These photographs need to be shared to Instagram.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget to tag @specializedza.\u00a0 The winner will be announced during prize giving after Day Two.<\/p>\n

WIN with Aramex SA<\/u><\/strong>: <\/strong>\u00a0Aramex SA, the courier partner of the 2018 event, will give away a prize to the whopping value of R5000.\u00a0 To stand a chance to win, Origin Of Trails MTB Experience long<\/u> and short <\/u>route riders will receive an armband with perforated bike number when they collect their race packs from the Coetzenburg Sports Field (opposite the netball courts) on Friday, 23 November 2018 (between 12:00 \u2013 18:00) and on Saturday, 24 November 2018 (between 05h30 – 06h00).\u00a0 The perforated bike number needs to be placed in the Aramex box that will be stationed somewhere on the Stage One route.\u00a0 Keep a look out!<\/p>\n

FALKE Foot Zone<\/u>:\u00a0 <\/strong>All entrants (runners and mountain bikers) are invited to visit the Falke Foot Zone once they\u2019ve crossed the finish line for a free Falke leg and foot massage.\u00a0 All riders taking on the Origin Of Trails MTB Experience long and short route will receive a pair of Falke socks in their race packs.<\/p>\n

Best Dressed Competition<\/u>:\u00a0 <\/strong>One lucky rider will win his\/her weight in beer with Flying Fish Chill Lite.\u00a0 All that you need to do is \u201cdress to impress\u201d on Saturday, 24 November 2018.\u00a0 The rider with the most memorable outfit will be announced during Prize Giving on Sunday, 25 November 2018.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n
