Entries are open for the 5th<\/sup> annual Sanlam Cape Mile brought to you by Sanlam Investments that will take place at the majestic Eikenhof Dam (Elgin, Grabouw) on Sunday, 17 February 2019.<\/p>\n

The Western Cape\u2019s most exhilarating open water swim, the Sanlam Cape Mile boasts two exciting distances:\u00a0 a 1 mile (1.6km) and a refreshing 500m swim.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to celebrate the 5th<\/sup> anniversary of the Sanlam Cape Mile in 2019,\u201d says Michael Meyer, Managing Director Stillwater Sports.\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019ve been overwhelmed by the support received since the event\u2019s inception with entry totals growing from 1000 in 2015 to over 2000 in 2018.\u00a0 We look forward to building on this trend by showcasing just how exciting and rewarding the sport of open water swimming can be.\u00a0 Our goal has always been to host a fun, safe swim that can be enjoyed by families and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sanlam Cape Mile boasted a nail-biting sprint finish in 2015, 2016 and 2017,\u201d continues Meyer.\u00a0 \u201cWe are hoping for a repeat in 2019 and are sure that the increased prize purse, which will be announced at a later stage, will help spur this on.\u00a0 Together with the support of Sanlam Investments and all our other valued sponsors we look forward to welcoming swimmers to the Western Cape\u2019s most exciting open water swim.\u201d<\/p>\n
