HB Kruger will be hoping for a successful title defence on Sunday, 16 September 2018 when he takes on the +- 60km Fedhealth MTB Challenge (Marathon) at Boschendal Farm Estate (The Retreat).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kruger claimed victory in 2017 in an impressive time of 02 hours 51 minutes.\u00a0 \u201cThe Fedhealth MTB Challenge is one of my favourite one day events,\u201d says Kruger.\u00a0 \u201cClaiming gold in 2017 was an amazing feeling.\u00a0 It was one of my first races back after my shoulder injury.\u00a0 The route featured some great single track in the picturesque Winelands.\u00a0 The win was a big morale booster.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d definitely recommend the Fedhealth MTB Challenge to other mountain bikers,\u201d continues Kruger.\u00a0 \u201cThe routes are beautiful, well-marked and there are various distances that cater for all types of mountain bikers.\u00a0 I am really looking forward to racing on the Boschendal trails.\u00a0 My goal is to get to the top step of the podium.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riding for the same team, Nicol Carstens and Jurgens Uys are sure to be tough competition in the +- 60km Fedhealth MTB Challenge (Marathon).<\/p>\n

\u201cI never say no to a challenge,\u201d says Carstens.\u00a0 \u201cThe trails in and around Boschendal are sure to be challenging and rewarding.\u00a0\u00a0 I finished 3rd<\/sup> at the 2015 Fedhealth MTB Challenge.\u00a0 I\u2019d love to better my result this year. \u00a0\u00a0I am looking forward to shredding the awesome Boschendal trails and spending time with family and friends afterwards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Uys will be gauging his fitness levels at the 2018 Fedhealth MTB Challenge.\u00a0 \u201cI am looking forward to racing the Marathon again this year.\u00a0 I finished third in 2017.\u00a0 I\u2019m expecting some steep climbs and good trails.\u00a0 My goal is to either better my finishing position or help my teammate (Nicol) get a win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Natia van Heerden (Fedhealth Ambassador\/Adventure Athlete\/Chef) from Hazyview (Mpumalanga) will take on the +-30km Fedhealth MTB Challenge (Half Marathon).\u00a0 \u201cI did the 60km Marathon in 2017 and absolutely loved it,\u201d says van Heerden.\u00a0 \u201cThe event was so well organised, the vibe was amazing with really good food and music.\u00a0 The trails were well kept, technical but flowing.\u00a0 It really was a fun weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe competition was strong in the women\u2019s field,\u201d continues van Heerden.\u00a0 \u201cI am hoping to see even more strong cyclists racing this year.\u00a0 My goal is to have a good race.\u00a0 I\u2019m in good shape and would be really happy with a podium finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
