Taking place at the Coetzenburg Sports Fields (Stellenbosch) on Saturday, 24 November 2018 the Origin Of Trails MTB Experience Long Route <\/strong>will boast a spectacular +-55km-58km Stage One<\/strong> Route that features an impressive 1550m vertical ascent.<\/p>\n

\u201cStage One<\/strong> of the Origin Of Trails MTB Experience Long Route <\/strong>is ideal for mountain bikers that are accustomed to spending time in the saddle,\u201d says Corrie Muller, Origin Of Trails Route Designer.\u00a0 \u201cIt might sound daunting, but the 1550m vertical ascent is needed to ensure that riders have the maximum single track experience.\u00a0 Although we focused a lot of our attention on eliminating unnecessary climbs, this stage is by no means flat.\u00a0 From the start there will be a 5.5km climb alongside picturesque vineyards.\u00a0 The good news is that there will be a short single track descent in the middle.\u00a0 There will be two long single track sections in Jonkershoek, flat sections next to the Eerste River, a visit to the old aqueduct at Dornier and an endless array of single track that will lead home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis stage boasts 18.5km of pristine single track heaven,\u201d continues Muller.\u00a0 \u201cStage One is designed to feature most of the hard climbs at the start, the rest of the route however does feature climbs.\u00a0 Considering the time of year, weather conditions in Stellenbosch are sure to soar.\u00a0 Riders with a good sense of humor are sure to have an advantage.\u00a0 Remember to keep hydrated and do not go out too hard.\u00a0 If the weather plays along, this stage will be bliss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Iconic sections to look out for during Stage One<\/strong> of the <\/u>Origin Of Trails Long Route <\/u><\/strong>will include<\/u>:<\/p>\n

  2. Mont Marie and its spectacular floating bridge.<\/li>\n
  3. G-Spot<\/li>\n
  4. The last 2 kilometres will be on the 2018 World Cup XCO Track<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
