The organisers of the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN have announced a whopping Prize Purse of R250\u00a0000 for the 3rd<\/sup> annual event that will take place on National Heritage Day, Monday, 24 September 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to increase the Prize Purse of the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN by R38\u00a0000 from 2017,\u201d says Michael Meyer, Managing Director Stillwater Sports.\u00a0 \u201cThrough the increase we are able to reward athletes for their hard work and support. \u00a0Prize money has been allocated to the top 10 finishers in the Open Category (male and female).\u00a0 The winner of the 2018 FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN will take home an impressive R30\u00a0000 prize, while the 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> place finishers will take home R17\u00a0000 and R13\u00a0000 respectively.\u00a0 The top 3 finishers in the junior, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+ categories will take home R3000, R2000 and R1000 respectively.\u00a0 We are proud to be in a position to offer such an incentive this in the event\u2019s 3rd<\/sup> year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN has firmly cemented itself as one of Johannesburg\u2019s must do events,\u201d continues Meyer.\u00a0 \u201cIn addition to the elite racing element, the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN also caters for social runners.\u00a0 Starting in front of FNB Bank City, runners (and walkers) will be transported on a 10km journey through the City of Gold.\u00a0\u00a0 Look out for Joburg\u2019s iconic landmarks, while enjoying awe-inspiring performance by a host of Joburg\u2019s leading performing arts groups.\u201d<\/p>\n
