North West Province \u2013<\/em><\/strong> Philimon Sebona is hoping for a successful title defence at the 16th<\/sup> annual FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic at the ATKV Buffelspoort on Saturday, 02 June 2018.<\/p>\n

Making his debut in 2017, Sebona conquered the 70km Monster in an impressive time of 03 hours 06 minutes 10 seconds.<\/p>\n

According to Sebona, the race was very tough with extremely strong competition.\u00a0 \u201cIn the end everything worked out in my favour.\u00a0 Crossing the finish line in the top positon was a definite highlight.\u00a0 Not only is the FNB Magalies Monster MTB Classic a great race, it also prepares you for future plans. It gives you the fantastic opportunity to test yourself.\u00a0 This year my goal is to better my time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would certainly recommend this race to other mountain bikers,\u201d continues Sebona.\u00a0 \u201cIt is one of the best, well-organized one-day races.\u00a0 It\u2019s amongst the best races to test your strength and skill.\u00a0 It challenges you, it\u2019s exhilarating and it\u2019s truly a monster.\u00a0 The best advice that I can give to newcomers is to have a solid breakfast before the race to fuel the body.\u00a0 Conserve your energy for the climbs and do not \u201covercook\u201d from the start.\u00a0 Take good care of your bike especially on the down hills where you will need to negotiate loose rocks.\u00a0 It can be quite dangerous.\u00a0 Most importantly, have loads of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
