Jamie Riddle and Susan Kruger were the XTERRA Warriors to beat at the 2018 Fedhealth XTERRA Lite at the Elgin-Grabouw Country Club on Sunday, 25 February 2018.<\/p>\n
A road triathlete, Riddle professed that the Fedhealth XTERRA is the only off-road triathlon that he participates at.\u00a0 \u201cXTERRA Grabouw is my only off-road event.\u00a0 It\u2019s awesome,\u201d says Riddle.\u00a0 \u201cMountain biking is a lot harder than road cycling.\u00a0 So my plan was to get a lead on the swim and then go into survival mode.\u00a0 I managed to keep my lead though.\u00a0 The event was a lot of fun.\u00a0 It was super well organized with a lot of marshals out on route.\u00a0 Being able to successfully defend my 2017 title was awesome.\u00a0 It\u2019s great to see hard work paying off.\u201d<\/p>\n
Riddle completed the 2018 Fedhealth XTERRA Lite in an impressive time of 01 hour 06 minutes 20 seconds.\u00a0 Samuel Courts came in second, while David Sher finished third.<\/p>\n
Obliterating the women\u2019s race, Kruger travelled all the way from Pretoria to take on the Fedhealth XTERRA Lite in Grabouw.\u00a0 \u201cI was hoping to do well, but I really didn\u2019t expect to win,\u201d says Kruger.\u00a0 \u201cI was second out of the water and managed to catch the leader early on the mountain bike leg.\u00a0 From there I led till the end.\u00a0 I enjoy XTERRA because it is tough, but fun.\u00a0 It keeps your mind going.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kruger completed the 2018 Fedhealth XTERRA Lite in a deserving time of 01 hour 19 minutes 32 seconds.\u00a0 Xanri Haak came in second, while Daneil Feldmann finished third.<\/p>\n

A perfect introduction to the sport of XTERRA, the 2018 Fedhealth XTERRA Grabouw Lite saw off- road triathletes having to complete:\u00a0 a 400m swim in the picturesque Eikenhof Dam, a 14km mountain bike route and a 6.5km trail run.<\/p>\n
