{"id":13102,"date":"2017-11-07T20:07:41","date_gmt":"2017-11-07T18:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/?p=13102"},"modified":"2017-11-07T20:07:41","modified_gmt":"2017-11-07T18:07:41","slug":"buco-origin-of-trails-stage-one-equates-to-single-track-heaven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/sport\/press-release\/buco-origin-of-trails-stage-one-equates-to-single-track-heaven\/","title":{"rendered":"BUCO Origin Of Trails Stage One equates to single track heaven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Stellenbosch (Western Cape)<\/em><strong><em> \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Stage One of the BUCO Origin Of Trails Two-Day MTB Stage Race will kick off in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 25 November 2017.<strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An individual rider race, entrants can choose between three entry options:\u00a0 Long (+-55km on Saturday and +-58km on Sunday), Medium (+-55km on Saturday and +-29km on Sunday) or Short (+-28km on Saturday and +-29km on Sunday).<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Long Course Information:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cStage One will start at the Coetzenburg Soccer Field and head straight for the world famous trail network in Jonkershoek,\u201d says Corrie Muller, BUCO Origin Of Trails Route Designer.\u00a0 \u201cThe moment the route turns left into Starke-Conde Wines, the long climb will start up an oak-lined alley, past vineyards into pristine Fynbos. Then it is straight into Specialized Country.\u00a0 I\u2019m not going to let the cat out of the bag by sharing the entire route, but exciting sections to look out for will include:\u00a0 Bennet\u2019s Trail, Fire Hut Single Tracks, an ascent up Lower Canary, the gardens of Ride In, Coetzenburg, Eden, Mont Marie and of course the grand finale, the gem of all trails, G-Spot followed by the brand new Cross Country (XCO) course for next year\u2019s world cup.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Distance:<\/strong>\u00a0 +- 55 km<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vertical climb<\/strong>:\u00a0 1530m<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amount of Single Track:\u00a0 <\/strong>20.7 km<\/p>\n<p><strong>Water Tables<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Water Table 1<\/strong>: on 18 km<\/li>\n<li><strong>Water Table 2: <\/strong>on 33 km<\/li>\n<li><strong>Water Table 3:<\/strong> on 43 km<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Short Course Information:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year the short route will not turn off at Ride In,\u201d continues Muller.\u00a0 \u201cRiders will follow the long route all the way up into Jonkershoek where they will have the luxury of riding their own trails.\u00a0 They will exit Jonkershoek and merge with the long route riders into Coetzenburg.\u00a0 After two climbs, the route will separate again just above G-Spot where they will do the G-Spot &#8220;B-Line&#8221;
