Riders taking part in the 2017 FNB Wines2Whales Mountain Bike (MTB) Events will be able to \u2018help make a difference\u2019 by adopting a tree through MTO in support of the FNB W2W Cr\u00e8che Educational Initiative.<\/p>\n
\u201cMTO would like to give back to its community while creating a unique experience,\u201d says Lawrence Polkinghorne, MTO Group CEO.\u00a0 \u201cRiders will be able to adopt a tree for R50 at race pack collection.\u00a0 The adoption process will be \u2018virtual\u2019.\u00a0 The interface will show riders the \u2018Knysna Plantation\u2019 that will be divided into blocks.\u00a0 We\u2019ll allocate a block to W2W.\u00a0 The rider can then choose a location within that block where he\/she would like to plant the tree. A form will need to be completed.\u00a0 When saved a tree will be allocated to the rider and saved in the exact location selected.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe lost a large part of our Knysna plantation during the June fires,\u201d continues Polkinghorne.\u00a0 \u201cWe would like to invest in new and exciting trails on our Garden Route plantations as part of the restoration program.
