set to take to the streets at FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A number of Durban\u2019s leading performing arts groups will be seen in action performing for runners at the inaugural FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN on Sunday, 08 October 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Leading performing arts groups to look out for on event day will include:\u00a0 the <strong>Amabhubesi Traditional Zula Dance<\/strong> <strong>Group<\/strong>, the <strong>Durban Girls\u2019 High School Majorettes<\/strong> and the <strong>Durban Regiment Pipe Band<\/strong> to mention just a few.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to be part of the inaugural FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN,\u201d says Mpumelelo Sibisi of the <strong>Amabhubesi Traditional Zula Dance Group<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u201cAll our members are from the KwaMashu Township and have been performing together for the past 15 years.\u00a0 The team competed at the South African Championships of Performing Arts in 2009 where they claimed four gold medals.\u00a0 Runners will be treated to passionate and energetic dance performances on race day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>KZN\u2019s top majorette high school, <strong>Durban Girls\u2019 High School Majorettes<\/strong> will also form part of the excitement on the day.\u00a0 \u201cOur team has been running since the early 1990s and has just placed 4<sup>th<\/sup> in South Africa during the 2017 National Championships,\u201d says Keith Alho, Durban Girls\u2019 High School Majorettes Coach.\u00a0 \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to be part of the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN.\u00a0 We\u2019re looking forward to cheering on the runners, while providing some serious entertainment on route.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Runners (and walkers) will also be treated to nostalgic performances by the<strong> Durban Regiment Pipe Band<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u201cThe Durban Regiment Pipe Band plays the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe accompanied by drums,\u201d says Ken Mustard, Pipe Major\/Durban Regiment Pipe Band.\u00a0 \u201cThe band is a member of the Pipe Bands Association of Southern Africa and regularly competes in pipe band competitions. \u00a0We\u2019re excited to be part of an iconic event that
