South Africa’s premier junior track & field meet, the PUMA School of Speed #4 heads to the LC de Villiers Sportsground (Pretoria) this coming Saturday, 02 March 2019.

Launched in November 2016 by PUMA and Stillwater Sports, the PUMA School of Speed Series is headed by the World’s Fastest Man Usain Bolt and is committed to identifying and developing young South African athletes who believe that their future is #ForeverFaster.

Junior track & field stars between the ages of 14-19 can enter the following events:  100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, 100m Hurdles (Boys 15, Girls 17 & 19 only), 90m Hurdles (Girls 15 only) and 90m Hurdles (Girls 15 only) and 110m Hurdles (Boys 17 & 19 only) as they strive to follow in the footsteps of Usain Bolt.

The PUMA School of Speed’s first Head Girl, Rose Xeyi (Soweto, Prestige College) will be seen in action on the day.  Xeyi competed at the PUMA School of Speed #2 at the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium (Roodepoort) on Saturday, 02 February 2019 where she placed first in the Girls U19 100m in a lightning fast time of 11.98 seconds.

“The PUMA School of Speed Series gives young athletes the opportunity to showcase their talent.  That is why I love it.  The 100m is my favorite event.  It was really nice to run the 100m in such a great meet (referring to the PUMA School of Speed #2).  My advice to other athletes is to not give up, keep on trying and work hard.”

“It is an honor and privilege to be the first Head Girl of the PUMA School of Speed Series,” continues Rose Xeyi.  “This is one of the best platforms for explosive athletics.  My goal for 2019 is to improve my 2018 times.  I also really enjoy being a PUMA representative.”

Junior track & field stars can also look forward to meeting South African middle-distance runner and 2019 PUMA School of Speed Vice Principal, Gena Löfstrand in the Vice Principal’s office at the stadium.
