It is not just the dozens of talented medical personnel from South Africa going elsewhere in the world looking for opportunities, statistics show that more and more whites are leaving the country.

Among the main reasons being stated are: The never ending corruption, the persistent violence that is unmanageable and the unemployment that is forcing people to find a home elsewhere.

One family leaving the country told The Vryburger that there was nothing left in the country that could keep them here, because without work and the escalating everyday criminal violence, the decision was simple.

Disappointment after disappointment made another couple decide to leave the country, rather than sit and suffer in their homeland because they are white and are unable to get a job for which they are more than well enough qualified for.

Teachers, advocates, lawyers, engineers, nurses and doctors are among those who packing up and looking at countries where the unemployment rate is less than 4% and where they are received with open arms.

In the past 10 years, about 100,000 people in the 21 to 45 age group have left the country not to return.
