Four people died on the scene &#8211; two drivers and two passengers. Twelve others were injured, four critically, and taken to hospital. The cause is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;On behalf of the Provincial Government, I send heartfelt condolences to the families. We wish the injured a speedy recovery,&quot; said MEC Kekana. She commended emergency personnel for their swift response. The road has been re-opened.<\/p>\n<p>MEC Kekana has ordered intensified deployment on the N1 and other major routes ahead of a high-traffic weekend.
